Biography

JANET HACKETT has appeared regularly in opera, concert, recital and theater performances. Roles include A Hand of Bridge (Geraldine), The Pearl Fishers (Leila), La Traviata (Violetta), Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Haydn's Creation, The Messiah, Elijah, Faure's Requiem, Christmas Oratorio by Saint-Saens, Vaughn William's Dona Nobis Pacem, Menotti's Muero porque no muero, and recital, comedy and vaudeville appearances.

In the Pacific Northwest she has appeared with Portland Opera Education and Outreach Program, Corvallis-OSU Symphony, Bravo! Vancouver, Bel Canto Northwest and more. Prior to moving to Oregon she performed frequently in the Chicago area. She has appeared in performances directed by Christopher Mattaliano and Tito Capobianco. Ms. Hackett holds performance degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Northwestern University School of Music and was a student of Ellen Faull. Ms. Hackett teaches voice at Oregon State University and maintains a private vocal studio.
